Arvana has over 15 years of investment banking experience and holds vast experience across sustainable finance, capital markets and distribution in addition to credit risk and advisory experience. Arvana formulated a market leading sustainable finance framework for Nedbank and structured and issued its inaugural green renewable energy bonds and subsequent Tier 2 green capital instruments. The green renewable energy bond instruments were endorsed by international and global investors and achieved the African Banker Energy Deal of the Year Award and the Impact Initiative of the Year Award for Africa from Environmental Finance.

Arvana has also led the development of climate related USD loan mechanisms in conjunction with DFIs. She has also been integral in structuring and leading some of the largest sustainable finance syndicated loan transactions emerging out of the African continent and under her leadership her team has implemented various bilateral green and sustainability linked loans.

Arvana has previously chaired the ESG Capital markets day at the Bonds, Loans and ESG conference and is a well respected thought leader in her field. Deals led have resulted in Nedbank CIB earning top ESG innovator globally and being recognised by Global Finance Magazine for Best Bank for Sustainable Finance in South Africa and Best Bank for Green Bonds in Africa.
