Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Development Bank of Namibia (DBN)

Mr. Johannes Mbango is a Namibian economist currently serving as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Development Bank of Namibia (DBN) since March 11, 2025.

He holds a master’s degree in financial economics and has over 21 years of experience in development finance. John began his career as a Business Analyst in May 2004 before transitioning to the role of Portfolio Manager.

Over the past decade, he has held key executive management positions, first as Head of Lending and later as Head of Portfolio Management. He currently serves as the acting CEO of the Development Bank of Namibia. In this role, he is responsible for providing strategic leadership, overseeing the implementation of the Bank’s development finance mandate, ensuring operational efficiency and alignment with national economic goals.

His extensive expertise in development finance and leadership continue to play a pivotal role in advancing Namibia’s economic development and financial stability.
