Managing Director of Kelp Blue Namibia

Fabian Shaanika has served as Managing Director of Kelp Blue Namibia since January 2024. With nearly 20 years of mining experience from four of Namibia’s major mines, Fabian also spent five years in banking (Standard Bank and RMB), specialising in mining, renewables and transition energy sectors.

Academically, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Exploration Geophysics from Leeds University, an MBA from Stellenbosch University and is a professional registered geologist.

Fabian leads efforts to cultivate giant kelp forests, enhancing biodiversity, carbon sequestration and sustainable agriculture. His expertise and commitment to sustainability drive Kelp Blue’s mission to innovate and create local employment opportunities.
